Wishful Wed. ... Pet

click here to get the scoop on WW
'I wish' .... My pet could talk because I have been dying to know why Harley excessively licks the floor/carpet/tile, and what Willis thinks of not being the favorite child!

Here are my two babies ....

I seriously love these two pups to death, and my day to day would be so boring without the love and tenderness I get from them!  My hubby surprised me with Harley, my 5 lb. Yorkie, as my first Christmas present after we were married.  This little girl is spoiled rotten and deserves the world, BUT the dang child drives me nuts with her constant licking of the floor.  She is a scrounger and will do anything for food.  She doesn't beg, but she just goes off licking any and everything to find crumbs, things left behind, and especially cleans my kitchen floors for me.  I hate it and want to know what will make her stop.

On the other hand, Willis was my husbands dog before we got married.  He is a lhasa apsa mutt, and he has to be one of the most mild and laid back dogs out there.  I guarantee if he could talk .... he would question my love and wonder why his little sister gets all the attention.  He probably thinks to himself, "I am such a good protector, I don't have accidents in the house, I play nice with my annoying sister, I don't beg, AND I can hold 'it' for over 24 hours .... why don't I get any more love?"  It really does break my heart because he is such a well behaved and sweet dog, and I favor my other child.  My friends always ask about Willis just to make sure I am spreading the love with my children.

(With that being said, I love both of my dogs and treat them equally nicely, but my life really does revolve around Harley since she is "my" dog!!  I do need to learn how to share my love, so once my own kids are in the picture they won't ask why I love one child more.  This isn't okay!!)

Noreply@blogger

Alright ladies .... I can no longer message each and every one of you on your blog to help change a setting on your profile.  So, I am hoping this mass post helps!

I love each and every single one of the comments I get, and I would be lying if I didn't say they often make my day that much better.  I get super excited when I see the flashing red light on my Blackberry in hopes it is a notification for my blog.  BUT, more importantly, I like to be able to respond to the comment notification by clicking reply and have it sent automatically to your email address.  Often when I click reply, it says noreply@blogger.com instead of your email address.

**So, will everyone check their settings since about 50% of the people who comment need to make one quick adjustment to make the process possible!?!  I will beg if I have to :)

Here is how to change it:
1.  Click on the Customize link in the upper right hand corner of your screen.

2.  Click on the Dashboard link in the upper right hand corner of your screen.

3.  Click Edit Profile, which in on the left hand side of the screen next to your profile picture.

4.  This will take you to the Edit User Profile screen.

5.  Look in the Privacy section.

6.  Click on the box that says, "Show my email address."

7.  In the Identity section, enter in an email address.

8.  Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click on Save Profile.

This quick change to your settings will be really helpful when someone asks me a question through a comment or when I want to reply in general.

Sweet Simplicity was brilliant to post about this here, and I have found it so helpful!

That is all for now ..... thank you thank you!!!  I am sure your other blogging friends will appreciate it too.

Not a fan ....

This vitamin tastes really yummy and is easy to swallow, but seriously, not a fan. This little sucker has made me nauseous for the last month......

Every.Single.Day.

I was beginning to think I was pregnant with the 30 minute daily occurrence, but luckily a friend enlightened me today on my ignorance.  I was talking to a girlfriend today and mentioned I didn't feel well, and she  oddly asked if I take a daily vitamin.  I said yes, and she said a lot of the times vitamins do that if you don't eat enough with it.  Well, I rarely eat breakfast, except for a FiberOne bar here and there, and it makes total sense now.  For the first time in my life, I have been religiously taking a multivitamin, but I don't think I can continue it if I am going to feel like I have morning sickness everyday.

Has this happened to anyone else?
Am I the only person who wasn't aware a vitamin does this~?!

Pokerface in my future?!

Husband came into the room and said:  Do you want to know how much I love you??

Me:  Yes ....

Husband:  I set a reminder in my phone when I read that Lady Gaga was coming in town because I knew you would want to go.

Me:  OH really!!!

Husband:  And tickets go on sale at 7am for her concert in Vancover BC.

Me:  No way .... (instantly log on to the ticket site and see she is performing with Kanye West).  Don't care to see him, but I do love me some Lady Gaga!

Husband:  Well, I am not much of a fan of either one, but I know how much you want to see her.

Me:  Will you go with me or do I have to ask Mollie to go???    :)

Husband:  Of course I will go.

Me:  Yippeeskips!  (That's for you Abbdae!!)

This little lady .....
is a true performer in my eyes!

Wishful Wed ....Job

Click here to get the scoop of Wishful Wednesday

'I wish' .... I got paid $1 million a year to
be an international au pair!

*we will pretend I hadn't found Mr. Right and was single

There is no other job quite like getting paid to watch after someone else's kids!  I have always enjoyed babysitting, but so many of my fond memories growing up were from nannying my favorite families.  The best was traveling on an all expense paid cruise (plus $$$) while I was in college for a family over Spring Break.  I was no Mary Poppins, but I was always willing to give up my weekends, drive carpools, help with homework, etc for a family that appreciated me!  I still keep in close contact with them and stop by when I am in town .... I swear I am not getting older, but the kids who were once 3 months old and young toddlers are now in high school and/or driving, out of braces, and just beautiful!!

Justin Leonard - famous PGA golfer - needed a full time nanny to travel on tour with him, and one of my good friends was offered the opportunity but didn't do it.  I went back and forth about taking the job, but my number one priority was to finish school.  Plus, my boyfriend at the time wouldn't allow (yes, I kid you notme to do it because that's how Tiger Woods met his wife.  She was a nanny for another golfer and met Tiger at a championship.  Little did my ex know he was going to lose me anyways -- haha :)

Anyways, I think if I hadn't found Mr. Right, I would have loved to take some adventure internationally and be an au pair!  To travel the world, learn multiple languages, live an expense-free life, and impact the lives of children .... sign me up!!!  Has anyone seen the movie Au Pair and the sequels??

Wishful Wednesday: TV Star

Photobucket

Click here to see get the scoop on Wishful Wednesday

This weeks topic:

'I wish' .... I could be ________!
(Name that TV star!!  Post a picture and tell us why)

Elizabeth Hasselbeck
From The View

I personally think of Elizabeth Hasselbeck as a TV star!
(if you don't think she is legit, read further because I pick a character too!)

I find myself watching clips of the view to see what fabulous attire this lady is wearing along with what candid and conservative views she is ranting and raving about.  I find her smart, sassy, sincere, and an inspirational TV star just being herself.  And let's be honest, she is just glamorous!

If I could be a character on a TV show,

I would be Addison Montgomery!!

Considering my reader audience, I am pretty sure most of you watch Private Practice!

With that being said, I thought Kate Walsh was great through all the love triangle craziness on Grey's Anatomy.  Then, I enjoyed her even more on the spin off show.  She is a brilliant Neo-natal surgeon, thrives being the center of attention, life of the party, and independent opinionated lady (that pretty much all sums me up too -- jk)!  I imagine her being a girl's girl and up for anything.

What TV Star or character would you be?
Post about it on your blog and add your link to MckLinky below ...
Hope everyone participates :)

Shopping in YOUR closet: Scarves

Since fall is right around the corner,
Meredith wanted this weeks Shopping in YOUR closet item to be scarves!

I couldn't be more excited because I LIVE in scarves in Seattle.
Seriously, it might be one of my favorite accessories to add to an outfit.
I possibly owned one or two before moving from Dallas, and now have about 15!

My standard winter attire for work during Seattle's rainy winter is slacks, scarf, and heavy jacket,
plus my Burberry rain boots (best purchase made since moving here)!

This was one of my first Burberry scarves, which I love!
I learned really quick that my collection wasn't quite large enough.
(BTW - I am growing my hair back out like this ... Christmas 07)
I randomly bought this scarf from Pitaya for like $15.  I love the colors and the lightweight feel.
My Granny Gayle gave me this scarf from Coldwater creek, and it is AMAZING!
It is super thick, keeps me incredibly warm, and has a great mix of deep purple colors.
This is the one scarf I brought from TX, and it is a staple of mine because it matches everything.
My Momma brought me back this Burberry (imitation) scarf from China!
It was probably the best $5-$10 spent.
I got to go shopping in my sister in law's closet because she doesn't get to wear scarves enough in Dallas, and she knows how much I love them.  It is a pretty gray, long and thick, and really comfy.
Shelby is modeling a cute peace sign scarf :)
I saved probably my favorite scarf for last.
It is a houndstooth black and gray scarf that I just adore!!  I got it from NY for around $8.
I am really mad at myself for not getting more.
and again with a better view!
Now, show us your scarves, and hop on over to Meredith's page to add it to her MckLinky!

If only it was for secret shopping ...

I don't have any good stories for Secret Shopping Sunday since I have been running around like a crazy lady.  Vacation + coming back to a gazillion emails = too much work on my plate.  One has to prioritize, right?

Confession:
I did a little damage at Neimans and Nordstrom's today ... if only they needed me as a secret shopper :)

Bellevue just opened it's first Neiman Marcus, and they sent me a grand opening gift card (LOVE THAT)
since I use to shop there all the time in Dallas.  So, I went for the sole purpose of buying a pair of 7's - the Dojo style.  My girlfriend swears by these jeans and and has at least seven pairs in different washes, so I thought why not!

Of course, they didn't have the Dojo's, so I bought another pair of beautiful "A" pocket 7's.  I have a pair that I wear with flats all.the.time. that I bought at least five years ago, and thought I could definitely justify a pair to wear with heels since I didn't have to pay full price.

I brought them home and modeled them for Gabe, and he loved them.  I said I didn't love them since I had Dojo's on the brain, and he said "we'll get both!"  I am not one to go crazy and splurge like this often, but I do get such good wear out of all my jeans.

And Nordstrom's came to the RESCUE.
Nordstroms.com had a special on this fabulous dark wash Dojo pair of 7's originally $198 and 60% off
... yes please!
I drove to the closest Nordstrom's  to try on the exact pair I found online,
and they were regular price .... (at this moment I was giddy in the dressing room!!!)

Don't you just love a good bargain?!
I have a little anxiety since I don't buy much online,
so I hope they fit as perfectly as the pair I tried on in the store.

If you happen to be a 25, 26, or 29 .... take advantage of this crazy good Nordstrom deal here.

Glad I had fun running all over town shopping while Gabe watched/still watching football ALLLLLLL day.
I am seriously already ready for the season to be over.
