Daylight Savings

I just got home from a Halloween party, and I'm doing some last minute packing before my flight in the morning ..... Hubby called to say goodnight (from TX) and surprised me with news that tomorrow is daylight savings time, but oddly I haven't heard one thing about it.  So, I checked Google to confirm this and had hoped someone blogged about it for affirmation, but not so much.

Makes me nervous especially when there is a flight on the line .... anyone know???

Hope everyone had a happy and save Halloween!!

Halloween already?

Gabe and I just got home from our "growth group," and we have been so blessed with 10 other couples in our group who are recently engaged, newly married, or married (that's us for sure now that we hit the three year mark) .... to spend a couple hours with on Thursdays.  We have already connected with a handful of couples that we are getting together with soon and really looking forward getting to know them better -- funny how people enter your lives for a reason?!

This week has FLOWN by.  Like, I haven't even had a chance to breathe and unfortunately won't get to tomorrow either.  I am taking Gabe to the airport (for his brother's 30th birthday) to go to Dallas at 5:30am, and then head downtown to work a ARNP display all day.  The second that is over, a couple girlfriends and I are going on a doggie Halloween adventure in the Mill Creek town center, which is going to be hilarious!  I will take pictures for sure. Then, I will be going to a Halloween party solo .... actually Mollie will be my date since her boyfriend can't go.  Yay for fun times and stay tuned to see my costume ;)

Here I am, in bed with my laptop, and catching up on blogs.  I just clicked on Keeping up with the Krecks, aka my besties blog, and she made me want to crawl up on the couch with her like old times!  We have so many memories together and it never gets old.

Miss you best friend .... what an amazing mother, an incredible friend, a Christian example, and the one and only friend I talk to on a daily basis.  It doesn't matter if you're changing a diaper or feeding Colt, you will continue what you're doing and talk to me for hours on end.  See ya in ONE week!!!!!!

So go check out her blog.  Don't judge her for cutting her garlic toast the way she did (what's up with the one diagonal piece and the rest down the middle!!!), wearing outfits with our names on them (my mom still has mine!), or our love for yummy desserts (I have no self control when Abby's mom is in the kitchen)!

This meant to be a short and sweet post,
but I just got to rambling!

Snail Mail

Snail mail is probably one of my favorite things
at the end of the day .... and of course,
this excludes any type of bill!

My mailman knows me by name since I walk the dogs to the mailbox everyday while he fills the community boxes, and I have come to the conclusion that he he is the nicest man.  Our mailboxes were broken into the first couple months we lived here, so I make an effort to drop off all my outgoing mail with him so I don't worry about it disappearing in the hands of someone else.  We talk about the weather, my dogs that won't stop barking at him, how his day has been, and I recently learned that his territory is getting larger since they are laying off the most senior people.  One time, he even made a comment while I was driving a rental and asked where my car was .... what a good memory he has right?

Well, today,
he delivered me this lovely decorated package below,
and I couldn't wait to get home and open it!

I sneaked a peak at the label and saw Bainbridge, which means it is from this fabulous lady!!!

Once I got home, I started tearing into it and Harley was sooooo excited to see what was inside.

FOR ME??  A beautiful card Ink Obsession Design just personalized for Teresa, yummy chocolate from Bon Bon Confections fudge boutique on Bainbridge Island, AND Frans Smoked Salt Carmels .

I just had to open them and try one of each, which I slightly regretted eating right before Crossfit.  I should have saved for after my workout - oops!  Oh well, it was amazing!

Teresa, your sweet heart and cheerful spirit is so vibrant.  I just love a good AMAZING southern gal'!  Thank you, Thank you, for my chocolate care package!

**The best mail is from my Granny Gayle!  I haven't gone a month without some simple one page note or even many chapters telling me how loved I am and to give Gabe a hug for her!  This is what life is all about and cherishing the written notes to the point of savoring them all in a huge folder that is overflowing with her name written on the outside.  Love you GG, hope that hand never gives out on you because I don't know what I would do with myself.

Wish Wed ....Costume

'I wish' .... I was six years old and going trick or treating, and my costume would be this cute sassy ladybug!

photo found here
If I could be as cute as this little girl and as happy as she is with a missing front tooth, then count me in ;)

I would wear pretty inexpensive costumes from Party City or ones from around the house, and the one above reminds me of a dance recital outfit I wish I wore!  I am not a huge fan of Halloween, don't really understand the love for candy corn, but I am sure I loved both as a kid.  I do vividly remember sorting through my candy, picking out my favorites, giving Dad my Almond Joy, and sadly throwing out that candies that were partially opened (parents rule!) - man!

**It just popped in my head that I was a flight attendant one year in my early to mid teens and wore my moms uniform top -- hahahah!!!!  What's your worst costume??  I finally found a portion of my costume yesterday, thanks to Tessa and Christie, and hope to get the rest together asap for our Friday and Saturday night shin-dig.

Girl Stuff

I am unproductively working from home and officially giving up on my so called plan of getting it done in the comfort of my own home.  Unfortunately, with my laptop close by, my favorite shows just sitting on my Tivo, Blackberry an arms length away, and all your blogging ladies with tons of updates ....

I am throwing in the towel and headed to the library to learn about the female reproductive system ..... good times!!  I just picked up another product for work to and now get to learn about menopause, osteoporosis, and the treatment of menopausal symptoms.

Then, off to book club tonight with my favorite ladies to discuss our most recent book.

AND yes, we actually talk about the book!

I love So Cal

I didn't mean to post this weeks WW topic yet, so I saved it as a draft and will re-post Monday afternoon.  All of you blogging ladies that follow me on Google Reader got a little sneak peak!!

Anyways, we are back from San Diego and just had a delightful time!  Other than our Hawaii vacation last year, this was my next favorite vacation because we had no agenda, left the resort only for evenings out, and laid by the pool for hours on end. I did not even image the weather being as perfect as it was, and me being so acclimated to Seattle, I didn't even pack shorts.  Yes, I survived with dresses, but seriously .... the weather was just right!

Here are some pictures from the trip.  We stayed at Paradise Point, which is where my parents took our family when I was 12 years old.  44 acres of lush greenery with towering palm trees on San Diego's Mission Bay ... yes please!  Maybe we will have to stop here again in another 12 years.

We went with Gabe's really good friend from work,
David and his girlfriend Kristen.

The four of us could not of had more fun together!!

ahhh Paradise for SURE!

The second day .... we learned real quick where the breakfast place was!  Gabe LOVES breakfast and we all know (read here) I am not a huge morning eater.  But, Barefoot's yummy ciabatta sandwich hit the spot and we'd then just skip lunch!

Headed out to Pacific Beach area of San Diego

The last day ....

Headed to our Balinese Massages .... hands down the best massage I have ever had.  It was their ritual massage, which are based on the traditions of Bali, and a "combination of accupressure, rolling motions, and rhythmic strokes relieving tension and promotes total relaxation."

We needed a workout after nonstop eating and tasty beverages, so we got a killer arm workout by kayaking for an hour in the bay.

It was a blast to just vegg in the middle of the bay and
observe the sail boat classes and huge yachts pass us by!

Off to dinner the last night .... Kristen works at a fine dining restaurant in the greater Seattle area, and I learned not only how to pronounce words I would never know how to say, but to love the tastes of it all while mixing and matching food preparations!  I could eat every meal with her - hah, but it might get me in trouble since she is blessed with a super fast metabolism ;)

Thanks hubby for such a fun and fabulous vacation.  I am already ready for another one .... especially after being shocked by the cool Seattle breeze the second I stepped off the plane!  I luckily get to go back to San Diego next week for work, so I will get to do a few of the touristy things we didn't have time for on this trip.  R&R ;)

Hope everyone has wonderful start to the week ....

Ya think?

Apparently, we all NEED vacations because 61 of you ladies happily linked up to share you favorite vacation spot.  That's a WW record, and I will cross my fingers that everyone gets to go on one sooner than later ;)

Wishful Wed ....Vaca

'I wish' .... (also known as I am thankful for) .... going on vacation tomorrow, and I am headed to SAN DIEGO!

I am extremely stoked to be leaving first thing in the morning for a weekend at a sunny resort in San Diego.  The Mr. and I are going on a vacation with another couple and looking forward to a great little getaway filled with couples massages, delicious food, tasty beverages, and relaxation by the pool if it is warm enough.  I checked out the weather, and it is suppose to be 75 degrees and sunny -- love that!

**Since I cheated on this post, my true dream vacation would be ....

Thailand (which we are trying to plan for in 10')

and Australia!
